Fishing Season
All year round!
The best time for Tuna and Wahoo is the winter and Spring with April being recognised as the month for Tuna! Runs of Marlin are generally in the summer with July 2006 having the best runs of Marlin for many years.
Shark Fishing
Shark Fishing in Tenerife takes on a number of guises. Drifting in deep water with a rubby dubby slick for the mid water species such as the Copper Whaler, or the 100m contour for Mako. Bottom fishing in deeper water produces Spurdog, as well as Six and Seven Gill Shark. Anchoring in shalow water produces the Tope, Smoothhound and Angel Shark.
Ray Fishing
Anchoring off selected marks produces Rough Tail Stingray of a good size. 25 Kg (50 lb) would be considered a small one, our largest to-date 287 lb. We also catch Common Stingray, Butterfly Ray and Eagle Rays.

Sea Fly Fishing
Skipper John loves Fly Fishing, we are therefore developing Sea Fly Fishing around Tenerife. Recently we had a fantastic day fly fishing, catching a beautiful Dorado (Dolphin Fish) estimated at 9 kg which was released and a number of smaller fish. It was a fantastic day, the bait fish were jumping, mackerel everywhere and Dorado swimming around the boat.
Trolling
Trolling is a favourite past time in Tenerife, there are lots of big fish to catch; Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo not to mention the Bonito and Dorado (Dolphin Fish). Trolling can, on occasions be a little boring if the fish are not biting, for this reason we can turn our hand to many other types of Sport Fishing.
Bottom Fishing
In Tenerife we have great depths, unheard of in European waters. We therefore fish the normal depths up to 300 ft by with hand rod & lne but for greater depths you can´t beat an electric reel. Have you ever tried to reel a fish in from 1,500 ft by hand? Favourite fish to catch on the bottom are Boca Negra (Black Mouth), very good to eat and Dusky Grouper, known locally as Cherne. Amberjacks and many other species are also popular. |

World Records
John Williams who runs the Fishing is not only a highly qualified Skipper and Powerboat Instructor, he is also a IGFA Certified Captain & Guide.
In 2005 whilst fishing in a local competition he caught a World Record Weever Fish of 3 lbs 13 oz, thats a lot of poisonous spines! The W.R. Certificate is hanging on the wall of Casa Bonita. In 2006, one of our clients caught a World Record Lizard Fish, therefore with Andy´s 33 Kg Tope we get our share of World Class Fish. John believes that a number of other World Records are obtainable in Tenerife waters.
